Ray Posch, Folk Singer & Voice for Love

That's me on the right. I am a lover of folk music and have been a folk singer for most of my life, although I didn't play guitar and sing folk songs as much during my career in information technology (which was pretty demanding).

Now I'm singing folk music both informally and professionally for the senior audiences who grew up with those songs and want to hear them and sing along with them again. And the songs I play and sing are from many different time periods.

Seniors in their 80s and 90s absolutely love the older songs like:

You Are My Sunshine
Goodnight Irene
My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean
She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain
Bicycle Built for Two
Oh! Susanna
I've Been Working on the Railroad
Swing Low Sweet Chariot
Greensleeves
Home on the Range
Streets of Laredo
He's Got the Whole World in His Hands
On Top of Old Smokey
Hey Good Lookin'
and many, many more

Remember some of these "classic" folk songs of the 1950s and 60s?

If I Had a Hammer
This Land is Your Land
Where Have All the Flowers Gone?
Blowin in the Wind
Michael Row the Boat Ashore
Tom Dooley

Green Green
Today (While the Blossoms)
Five Hundred Miles
Walk Right In
Gentle on My Mind
Take Me Home, Country Roads
Early Morning Rain
Try to Remember
Scotch and Soda
The Battle of New Orleans
and many, many more

I play guitar and sing these songs (and more) for seniors to enjoy and sing along with.  And I absolutely love interacting with the audience and sharing some of the history of, or interesting tidbits about, the songs or the folk music artists who made the songs popular like:

  • Peter Paul and Mary
  • Kingston Trio
  • The Weavers
  • Bob Dylan
  • John Denver
  • Glen Campbell
  • New Christy Minstrels
  • The Highwaymen
  • Pete Seeger
  • Woody Guthrie
  • Hank Williams
  • Rooftop Singers
  • Gordon Lightfoot
  • The Brothers Four
    and many others

Here are testimonials from activities directors at Denver area retirement communities:

"The energy, joy, and love that Ray brings my residents are unmatched. Ray is truly a professional with a great passion for folk music. Every month he creates a time capsule of music performance that won't be forgotten by those present. We love him." ~Matthew, Brookdale Pinehurst Park

"Ray was a wonderful entertainer for my Happy Hour here at Sky Pointe Retirement Resort. All of the Residents loved him and really enjoyed singing along with him. What a great way to end the week." ~Whitney

For my shows, I offer performances of 60 minutes for $100 standard rate for most senior communities (and I give a lower rate to smaller centers). And please note that I will do a first-time performance at a senior living facility for FREE. Call now to take advantage of this offer. Your groups will love these shows, and after you've seen one you might want to have me back on a regular schedule (such as monthly or every other month).

I also am a Voice for Love. I encourage seniors and others to change from fear-based thinking to love-based thinking. It can change one's experience of life to be much more positive, healthier, happier, and rewarding in many ways. I speak from my own experience, and it has changed my life.

Call me at 720-236-2221 and leave a message. I will return your call at the earliest opportunity.
