Ray Posch, Folk Singer & Voice for Love
That's me on the right. I am a lover of folk music and have been a folk singer for most of my life, although I didn't play guitar and sing folk songs as much during my career in information technology (which was pretty demanding).
I grew up in the 50s and 60s, taught myself to play guitar, and became a lead singer in a rock band AND was in folk groups throughout my high school and college years. I also had lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins and led the sing-alongs for family get-togethers on holidays and birthdays.
Now I'm singing folk music both informally and professionally for the senior audiences who grew up with those songs and want to hear them and sing along with them again.
Remember some of these "classic" folk songs?
Where Have All the Flowers Gone?
Blowin in the Wind
If I Had a Hammer
This Land is Your Land
On Top of Old Smokey
Michael Row the Boat Ashore
Five Hundred Miles
Walk Right In
Streets of Laredo
Early Morning Rain
Scotch and Soda
The Battle of New Orleans
I play guitar and sing these songs (and more) for you to sing along with or dance to if you like. And I absolutely love interacting with the audience and sharing some of the history of, or interesting tidbits about, the songs or the folk music artists who made the songs popular like:
- Peter Paul and Mary
- Kingston Trio
- Bob Dylan
- John Denver
- The Weavers
- New Christy Minstrels
- The Highwaymen
- Pete Seeger
- Woody Guthrie
- Rooftop Singers
- Gordon Lightfoot
- The Brothers Four
Here's a recent testimonial from an activities director at at Denver retirement community:
"Ray was a wonderful entertainer for my Happy Hour here at Sky Pointe Retirement Resort. All of the Residents loved him and really enjoyed singing along with him. What a great way to end the week." ~Whitney
Below are some samples of me playing my guitar and singing.

For my shows, I offer performances of 60 minutes for $100 at senior community facilities. And at the current time while getting established, I will do a first-time performance at a senior living facility for FREE. Call now to take advantage of this offer. Your groups will love these shows, and after you've seen one you might want to have me back on a regular schedule (such as monthly or every other month).
I also am a Voice for Love. I encourage seniors and others to change from fear-based thinking to love-based thinking. It can change one's experience of life to be much more positive, healthier, happier, and rewarding in many ways. I speak from my own experience, and it has changed my life.
