Looking up from rock bottom

As I said in my last post, there was a time when I was unemployed for more than a year, and as a result I got very down financially, emotionally, and in nearly every other way. I was depressed, anxious, and at my lowest-ever point as far as self-esteem and self-confidence.

But an information product helped me begin to change my mindset, and that was key to turning things around. I woke up to the fact that I needed to think differently about myself, my approach to finding a job, and even about my life going forward.

I realized that I needed to clear away the negative thinking about myself never finding a job again and, instead, having a mindset about myself as totally capable, successful, and a great asset for a company looking for an IT project manager. It actually took me several weeks of working through that process… changing from negative thinking to positive and from lacking in confidence to remembering that I was a really good project manager.

I slowly built up my self-confidence and my congruence in selling myself to hiring managers. And, rather than focusing on just any job that came along, I began visualizing the perfect job for me that would use all of my good experience and skills.

Synchronicity began to work for me… A former co-worker, who now had his own recruiting company saw my resume on an online job site, contacted me about a job opportunity and it was that perfect job. Not only did the subsequent interview go well, I got the job offer. I had to wait a month for the job to open up after the first of the year, but I definitely wanted to have the right job with a good future which it indeed proved to be.

In addition, I began exploring in real earnest my mindset, the law of attraction, what I want most, and how I was to serve my purpose in life.

Stay tuned for more…
