A good friend shared this true story in a letter, and I have to share it with you…
I came across an old man bicycling across the USA a month ago. He had canoed the Missouri River… canoed the Mississippi… walked the entire 2,200 mile length of the Appalachian Trail, and was bicycling to California to begin the 2,600 mile hike up the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. He was 73. I asked him “Where to you get the incentive and energy?” He answered:
When I was 50 years old I had a dream. In the dream, I had died and went to heaven. There was a long line of people waiting to get to the Pearly Gates. When I got to the gates, St. Peter asked me “What did you do with that amazing gift of life that I gave you?”
The guy woke from the dream and, when he got to work that morning he walked in and quit. And he as been exploring the USA and having adventures ever since that dream.
My friend embraces life and has found others who do the same. Do you? PS. You don’t have to quit your job to embrace life. Love, RP
